The main purpose of the study is to examine the influence of school culture on students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division. The following specific objectives will guide the study; i) To establish the influence of teacher commitment on students’ academic performance, ii) To determine the influence of team work on students’ academic performance, and iii) To assess the influence of time management on students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design based on a quantitative approach. Simple linear regression analysis was engaged to assess the influence of school culture on students’ academic performance in order to provide empirical evidence on study hypotheses at a 5% significance level. The study revealed that teacher commitment has a significantly strong and positive influence on students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division (β=0.645, P-value=0.000). Additionally, the study revealed that team work has a significantly strong and positive influence on students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division (β=0.604, P-value=0.000). The study further revealed that time management has a significantly weak and positive influence on students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division (β=0.340, P-value=0.001) at a 5% significance level. In conclusion, school culture outstandingly influences students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division in that an improvement in teacher commitment, team work, and time management resultantly would lead to improved students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division. The researcher recommends that teachers and the school administration should promote a positive learning environment through fostering mutual respect, inclusivity, and belonging for all students as this would directly and significantly influence students’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Jinja City, Southern Division.
